My Tanning routine for pale skin | AD

Being blessed with naturally blonde hair also means that I have super fair skin, always have and always will. I do tan a little in the sun, but I prefer not to expose myself to the sunlight, especially during the summer months. Too much sun isn't great for my pale skin and I also don't enjoy the 'part tan, part burnt look'! I much prefer using a self tanner at home and over the years I have tried A LOT, some great, some average and some, disastrous!

I was so excited when I first heard that Coco & Eve were launching a fake tan; I've always been intrigued by their super popular brand! Most of you will know Coco & Eve from their beloved 'Like A Virgin' hair mask which is vegan and cruelty free (just like the Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam). Being a long-term vegetarian, I'm all about those cruelty free/ vegan beauty products!

Pre application, I made sure to exfoliate any existing tan off my skin in a warm shower, I would then usually moisturise my whole body but I just did dryer areas such as elbows, knees, ankles and wrists to prevent any tan sticking to those patches. Although the tan does have a green-grey base for a natural-looking, golden glow with no orangey tones so didn't need to worry too much.

First of all, you notice the incredibly unique tropical scent that the tan gives you. The mousse dried faster on my skin than any other tan I've used before which was a pleasant surprise! My skin felt completely dry to touch after 1-2 minutes which is amazing and so rare for a fake tan. I used the soft velvet mitt to apply the tan all over my body, this felt super luxurious and made the application process a lot more enjoyable. I also used the kabuki brush to apply a small amount to my hands and feet. You do have to work quite quickly with the brush due to the tans fast drying time, but it allows you to get in all of the creases and areas that are hard to reach with a mitt.

I then slept overnight with my tan on and washed it off the next morning which is how my usual routine goes if I have the time. You can wash it off sooner though thanks to it's fast developing time of 2 hours. There was no transfer onto my WHITE bed sheet which gets a huge tick from me. The guide colour then washed away down the drain and I was left with a gorgeous, natural glowing tan! This did then continue to develop over the next 24 hours or so which isn't something I've experienced before but after taking these images, my skin did continue to go darker (which I'm definitely not complaining about) but something to keep in mind.

Why this tan is unique...

Bali-inspired ingredients such as coconut, fig, banana and papaya give this tan a tropical scent, it hydrates the skin, improve signs of ageing and honestly dries faster than any other tan I’ve used! Its unique formula blurs pigmentation, firms and perfects so that we can all feel 100% confident in our own skin.

If you're looking for a new self tanner to try at home definitely check out this game changer!
