HOW TO GAIN MORE FOLLOWERS ON INSTAGRAM

I am definitely guilty of caring too much about my Instagram, (I think we all are to an extent). Uploading regularly is something I try my best to do and I work hard at producing good content for my followers to see. Over the last few years I have learnt a few tips and tricks when it comes to gaining followers and engagement and I thought I'd share them with you today on my blog.

1. Keep it consistent.

Consistency is so important! If your followers don't receive regular uploads, they are likely to unfollow and go elsewhere. Also, if someone comes across your account and you haven't posted in a while, they're unlikely to follow.

2. Keep it interesting.

Although it's totally okay to post the odd image of your cat, or your breakfast, try and give your followers what they want. Get creative and make your posts unique! Tell your story.

3. Hashtag away.

I'll be completely honest here, I don't exactly know how much hashtags help when it comes to followers etc, however I've been adding hashtags to all of my images pretty much since I started up my account and it seems to work for me! Try to avoid common hashtags and make them niche, this way you'll attract people who have specific interests.

4. Stories

Instagram stories are a great way of reaching out and engaging with your audience. I try and post daily using this feature, especially when I have released a new YouTube video or have something to tell/ask my followers. It's a great way to post content and share aspects of your life that you wouldn't necessarily want to post on your main profile.

5. Check your insights

I wouldn't recommend checking too often or getting obsessed with the statistics, but you can use the information in this section to your advantage. For example, my account generates the most profile views and engagement around 9pm, so that is when I try and post my photos. You can learn all sorts about your audience in this section so give it a read!

Of course gaining followers on Instagram isn't everyones priority and certainly isn't the most important thing, however these are my tricks on how I create more engagement and improve my Instagram which essentially leads to more followers.
